Translating to "I was hungry," this series features enlarged paper towels with food remnants such as butter and jam or curry. In this project, the paper towels are scanned rather than photographed, allowing for a much larger digital negative to print large-format photographs. The images are printed on textured watercolor paper, then cut out of their frame to include the paper towels' nuanced edges. From a distance, they appear to be abstract paintings of minimal color, but from close-up, their heightened photographic detail is revealed.
